MASA - Tamales y Tortilla Workshop

MASA - Tamales y Tortilla Workshop
Join us for a creative and beautiful hands-on gathering where we dive deep into one of Mesoamerica’s most sacred culinary traditions: the art of masa.
Masa is ancestral knowledge passed down through generations. It is an ode to the abuelas y abuelos, a celebration of community, harvest and our connection with the land.
In this colourful workshop we be learning about different types of corn and the process of nixtamalization. We will prepare tamalitos and chuchitos wrapped in corn husks and banana leaves, slow-cooked over the fire in traditional clay pots. We will shape floral tetelas and tortillas by hand and gather around the comal before we sit down to share a vibrant feast around the table.
